Howard Gaines Behavioral Health Community Service Award

This award honors Howard Gaines, a tireless advocate of mental health for over 20 years.  Howard Gaines was one of the first members of the Beaverhead Mental Health Local Advisory Council and the Western Service Area Authority. Howard was also a champion for those with disabilities. He served on the Advisory Council for Disability Rights Montana from 2006 until the time of his death in May of 2016. His service to the community has been recognized by a Proclamation of the Beaverhead County Commissioners and the by the establishment of the Howard Gaines Behavioral Health Community Service Award. 

The Beaverhead County Mental Health Local Advisory Council created this award to recognize and commend contributions made by Beaverhead County residents who advance the cause of improved behavioral/mental health in our community.  The award recognizes an outstanding Beaverhead County resident who has made significant contributions in this area.
